Since taking office on December 4, 1994, Maldonado has made his job as Commissioner his to priority. On almost every Tuesday and Thursday evening, he meets with constituents from 5-8 p.m. to advise and help them with their problems. "When I was elected Commissioner, the people who voted me into office expected to have an active, hands-on Commissioner--not someone who considered their role as Commissioner secondary or a hobby, " says Maldonado. "Serving the people of the 8th district as their Cook County Commissioner always comes first."
What Kind of Help You Can Get
Maldonado shares (see item #48) his offices with U.S. Representative Luis Gutierrez and Illinois State Representative Cynthia Soto. "By sharing the space, we are able to create a kind of "One Stop Center" for our constituents. Problems they face might have a local character, but the solution may lie with the Federal government. By incorporating these 3 government offices, we can focus on the problem and the solution, rather than referring them to another government agency."
From tax appeal issues to Forest Preserve permits, all county issues get the attention they deserve. Please call Olga Verduzco for any help you may need at 773-395-0143. |
